Richard Stewart retired in 2006 after teaching for 33 years in the Penn Yan School District. Rich was elected to the Board in March 2008 for a four- year term. He is Chair of the Personnel Committee and serves on the Finance and Planning and Development Committees.

Rich is on the Penn Yan Public Library Board, Director of the Lamoka-Waneta Lakes Association, a member of the Penn Yan Lions Club, Vice-Chair of the Yates Progressives. Rich is on the Yates Democratic Committee, and volunteers in the Yates County Treatment Court.
