Michael Christensen was originally appointed as a Trustee on April 2, 2002 to fill the vacancy created by Doug Marchionda Jr.'s election as Mayor. This original 1-year appointment
has recently been extended for an additional year.
Christensen is involved in many different facets of the community. An investigator with the Yates Country Sheriff's Department for sixteen years, he has also served on the
Penn Yan Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-four years and the Penn Yan Board of Education for twelve years. He is currently president of the Penn Yan Youth Football League
and vice-president of Little League.
Christensen is excited about many of the village's current projects and feels that "good communication" is the key to developing plans for village projects.
